Many of the Shropshire wedding videographers will be familiar with the wedding venue that you choose and will be happy to supply samples of their work at that particular venue.

Tips, advice and questions to ask when choosing
your wedding videographer.

Have they filmed a wedding video at your venue before?

If they answer yes, ask if it’s possible for you to take a look at the video of a previous wedding they have filmed at the venue.

If the answer is no, now would be a good time to request if they would be willing to visit the venue to familiarise themselves with the venue and get ideas of excellent vantage points to film during the day and evening.

How do they liaise with the wedding photographer?

Enquire whether the videographer has worked with your chosen photographer before, how they work together on the day.

Whether he or she is happy to liaise with the photographer to include some photos that can be incorporated into the final wedding video.

How do they describe their style of videography?

It may sound a silly question to ask, all videographers have their own unique style and they may specialise for example in a documentary or cinematic footage style or use a combination of both.

A nice touch is to include filmed messages from family and guests into the video that can be candid and treasured for years to come.

How much do they charge for their services?

It pays to request a quote from at least three videographers as their prices will vary, many have standard packgages which may stipulate how many hours of footage they will film.

This may only include the day as it unfolds including the wedding breakfast and speeches and others will film into the evening to include the first dance.

How many DVDs they will supply after the final editing and how they will be presented to you, don't be afraid to ask for additional services that are not mentioned, you will find they will be more than happy to accommodate your wishes.

How many cameras will be there?

Some videographers work as a team with one other and manage to get additional footage of the day from different angles which can produce some excellent results that are well worth the extra cost.

However, if you are only having one camera person on the day make sure it is the person you are negotiating and discussing your wedding with.

How will the film be edited and finalised?

You don't need to be a technical expert but having some understanding of how the footage taken by the videographer will be put together, will give you an idea in what to expect when everything is completed.

Don't be afraid to request if you can choose the sound track or request some special songs that can be included within the video that are special to you.

What kind of lighting is required or being used on the day?

Don't forget to discuss lighting options that may be required for dimly lit locations or for romantic evening shots.

A professional videographer will have the equipment to deal with these situations but it is worthwhile mentioning so they bring them with them on the day.

What equipment do they use?

Ensuring that the videographer is using high-quality filming and sound equipment should be a pre-requisite but don't be afraid to ask what type of camera they use and ask if they have back up equipment in the event of technical problems on the day.
